About Us
Our Ethos
Here at Miss B’s Nursery, we strive for our children to be caring, independent and resilient. We want them to have a love for themselves, other people and for learning. To enable that, we provide a safe, stimulating environment for children to thrive. We pride ourselves on being their home-from-home. A place where they can come to explore, be challenged, use their imagination, and become inspired.
We celebrate the whole child, building strong relationships with families, learning about them and their experiences, and incorporating this into our curriculum.
Our Intent
- At Miss B’s Nursery, we aim to create a home-away-from-home atmosphere and foster a culture of community and independence.
- Regardless of background or circumstance, we include all children, nurturing and immersing them in a welcoming environment that offers a range of diverse experiences, ensuring they flourish and develop into enthusiastic little people with a zest for life and learning.
- We respect each child and their family as individuals and foster inquisitive minds by valuing their questions, so that children and their families thrive during their learning experience with us.
Our Implementation
- For our children to grow and develop, we must first establish secure relationships with them and their parents/carers, whom we value and strongly encourage as partners in their children’s education. As we always say to the families, we work as a team, and both want the same for their child- we want the best for them.
- We use this knowledge to create a play-based curriculum led by children and their interests, supported by planning in the moment, to which all staff members contribute to the holistic development of the child.
- As children learn, we use a balance of small-group, adult-led, child-led, large-scale, and one-to-one activities to develop their skills and knowledge of the world around them. The ever-changing environment around us offers stimulating and ambitious opportunities for children to develop resilience, confidence, and a sense of self.
- To ensure a rich and positive learning environment is established and maintained, we have a highly trained, skilled, and experienced staff team here at Miss B’s Nursery, who are valued and respected for their participation in the effective running of Miss B’s Nursery, each and every day.
- As we play alongside our children, we strive for excellence, always furthering skills and knowledge, pushing for continuous professional development to be the best we can be, and laughing and learning alongside our children.
Our Impact
- Our intent and the implementation of our values will enable us to create a loving, nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment for all to enjoy.
- A place where everyone is listened to, celebrated, and valued for being who they are. As a team, we strive to ensure all children are given opportunities to develop themselves and become successful, participating and valued members of our society.
