Safeguarding

Hive
Rules

Have Fun!
Be Safe!

We believe if children follow these two rules, they can understand every decision they make. We will ask them “Why is running with scissors breaking our rules?”

Then they begin to understand: “It breaks one of the rules- we are not safe. Because if we trip, we might hurt ourselves, and that is not keeping me safe”

THINK: “What if I’m right”

NOT: “What if I’m wrong”

Security & CCTV

Ensuring the security of children, staff, parents/carers and visitors is of utmost importance to us. We have formulated comprehensive security processes within the Nursery and a sign-in/sign-out system for all visitors.

We have also installed extensive CCTV systems in our nurseries to ensure the safety of the children, staff, parents/carers and visitors. Strict policies are in place to ensure the correct use and maintenance of CCTV systems, in line with guidance from the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Health & Safety

At Miss B’s Nursery, we provide an inspiring early learning environment in which children can learn and develop, whilst maintaining high standards of health and safety for all of the children under our care and our employees.

All our staff are Paediatric First Aid Trained.

There are set procedures for administering medicines, fire evacuation and in the event of an accident.

Risk assessments are in place to help us identify and reduce potential risks within the nursery.

Half-termly fire and lockdown drills will be carried out with the children, with dates and times recorded.

We provide information, training, and supervision to help develop and promote a strong health and safety culture within the nursery, for the benefit of children, staff, and parents.
